What
is does Factory refurbished, Factory Re-newed, Factory Re-Certified,
Factory Remanufactured actually mean?
-
These all describe the same product condition.
- The
most important thing to look for when buying refurbished equipment
is the word "factory"--this means it has been re-certified
direct from the manufacturer
- Buying
refurbished not only do you get merchandise that has been shipped
direct from the manufacturer but also in conditions where the
item had to be serviced units are tested more vigorously than
direct from the production line--so in all actuality your getting
a BRAND NEW , warranted working unit.

Below
are a few examples of Refurbished Equipment:
- Most
major retail superstores offer a 30-day money back guarantee
on their products and there are those consumers that just simply
take advantage of that. These items are returned to the manufacturer,
inspected and repackaged like new--since law prevents the manufacturer
as re-selling as new, this item is discounted sold to retailers
like Letterfolders.com and sold to you at 20-80% off retail
pricing.
- Items
where the box or casing was damaged in shipment which are returned
to the manufacturer (again must be sold as refurbished)
- The
item was returned to the manufacturer because of a slight defect.
The part that was defective was replaced by the manufacturer,
tested and then repackaged just like new. (again tested and
tested by the manufacturer to make sure the defect does not
occur twice)
- The
item was returned because of a minor cosmetic blemish on the
casing that was corrected.
-
Demonstration units are also considered factory refurbished.
These units are inspected, tested and repackaged.
-
The box was simply opened. That’s it--they must again
resell as refurbished
-
Brand new overstocked items are also labeled factory refurbished.
It is impossible to know the history of each item, but for whatever
reason the unit gets labeled factory refurbished it is inspected
& serviced by the manufacturer then tested and repackaged
to meet original product specifications. All merchandise is
warranted by the original manufacturer unless otherwise specified.

Why
should I buy refurbished equipment?
- Refurbished
equipment saves you the consumer cash! Why hesitate getting
the best value by getting the exact same equipment, with original
manufacturers warranty at a much lower price--sometimes 80%
below cost.
-
If you couldn’t afford that expensive item till now
NOW you can with a factory refurbished item! And still get the
same performance & warranty.
-
Refurbished items have a much lower defect rate. From 10 units
that come back for repair only 1 is usually a factory refurbished,
because refurbished units are tested and must pass a higher
standard before they are sold.
